MPE GLASS STAIRS

Introducing a Glass Staircase featuring MPE Architectural Glass

Product Overview

When subjected to an electrical current, liquid crystal molecules align, allowing incidental light to pass through and creating the highly transparent PriWatt™ Glass. Conversely, when the power is turned off, the liquid crystals reorient randomly, scattering light and transforming the PriWatt™ Glass into an opaque state.

Applications

The glass railings can serve as either glass walls or run parallel to the staircase, offering boundless design possibilities with structural glass. We often utilize extra white or low-iron glass, devoid of any green tint even in substantial thicknesses, resulting in nearly invisible stairs. For example, when paired with timber treads, they create a floating appearance due to the minimal visibility of the structural railing.

Advantages of Glass Stairs:

  • Creates an illusion of spaciousness
  • Does not obstruct light
  • Ideal for modern interiors
  • Easy to maintain cleanliness
  • Strong and durable glass balustrades
  • Complements various materials
  • Provides safety and security

Glass stairs can be enhanced with additional features such as LED-lit treads with customizable colors or privacy glass that darkens as you walk on it.

Technical Specifications

The use of glass lamination enables one-way vision effects, allowing for creative applications such as unique textures, colors with adjustable transparency levels, integrated lighting, and one-way vision effects in films using evguard® laminate film.

The combination of evguard® laminate film and one-way vision film offers exciting possibilities: one side of the laminated sheet displays an individually selected motif, while the other side remains transparent. This feature allows for innovative uses like creating unobservable meeting rooms from the outside while maintaining a clear view and spacious feel for occupants inside. Offices or medical facilities can benefit from the one-way vision effect, especially when installing privacy screens on ground floors while preserving outward views.
